Unlock N4 Million in Microgrant Funding: Scale Your Nutritious Food Business in 2024

Date:

Are you a woman or youth leading an agribusiness in Nigeria? The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is offering an incredible opportunity to access up to N4 million in equity-free microgrant funding to scale your business! This third edition of GAIN’s Microgrant Funding aims to support nutritious food businesses focusing on Vitamin A Maize, Vitamin A Cassava, and Orange-Fleshed Sweet Potato across Kaduna, Benue, Nasarawa, and Oyo States.

Why Apply for the GAIN Microgrant?

Agribusinesses play a vital role in Nigeria’s economy, driving food security, employment, and overall economic growth. However, accessing finance remains one of the biggest challenges for many. With high-interest rates and strict conditions from traditional financial institutions, many innovative agribusinesses struggle to scale their impact. GAIN’s Strengthening Nutrition in Priority Staples (SNiPS) project seeks to bridge this gap, providing over 40 businesses with the financial backing needed to commercialize nutrient-enriched food products.

What’s on Offer?

GAIN’s Microgrant Funding provides N4 million (four million naira) in equity-free grants to 40 businesses operating within the Vitamin A Cassava, Vitamin A Maize, and Orange-Fleshed Sweet Potato value chains. This is your chance to scale your business and make a lasting impact on Nigeria’s food security.

Who is Eligible?

To qualify for this incredible opportunity, your business must:

  • Be led by women or youth, or be a registered farmer’s association or cooperative society.
  • Operate within the targeted value chains: Vitamin A Cassava, Vitamin A Maize, or Orange-Fleshed Sweet Potato.
  • Be legally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), SMEDAN, or your state government.
  • Operate within one of the following Local Government Areas:
    • Kaduna: Lere, Chikun, Giwa, Kaura
    • Nasarawa: Doma, Kokona, Awe, Lafia
    • Benue: Gboko, Makurdi, Gwer-East, Otukpo
    • Oyo: Afijio, Iseyin, Oyo-West, Ido
