Nigerian public relations firm Chain Reactions Africa has won a Global SABRE Award for a campaign it ran for the Presidency. The firm says it is the first independent Nigerian PR consultancy to win the award and also showcase the work at the PRovoke Global Summit in Chicago.
The winning campaign is titled “From Promises To Proofs.” It centred on the Federal Government’s economic reform programme.
The award was presented on October 26. The campaign film was screened that same night. The next day, the firm’s founder and chief strategist, Israel Opayemi, presented the work to summit delegates.
His presentation tackled a clear problem: how can governments move public debate beyond promises and show proof that they are delivering?
Senior communications leaders attended the summit. They included Richard Edelman, head of Edelman; Paul Holmes, founder of PRovoke Media; and Frank X. Shaw, Microsoft’s Chief Communications Officer.
Opayemi told the audience that grievance is rising across the world. According to him, this shaped the campaign’s direction. Governments, he said, must listen to the public and connect their policies to people’s daily lives.
He also said the win means more than a trophy. In his view, it proves that an independent Nigerian consultancy can produce work that stands alongside the best in global communications. He added that the Chicago showcase lets the firm bring an African voice to discussions on public trust and accountability.
Opayemi also thanked the Presidential Media and Communications team for working with his firm on the campaign. He named the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, and the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake. He also named Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
The campaign was among 40 Global SABRE winners chosen from over 5,500 entries across more than 60 countries. Chain Reactions Africa was the only consultancy from Africa to reach the global shortlist.
The firm has had a strong year. At the 2026 Africa SABRE Awards, it won the Public Sector/Government category for the same campaign. It was also a finalist for the Platinum SABRE Award for Best in Show. In addition, it placed third overall in Earned First’s Africa Consultancy Performance Index and won the Large Consultancy category.
