Police in Oyo State have arrested three men in Saki over alleged homosexual acts. The suspects are Ayomide Lukeman, 22; Shuaib Aremu, 22; and Abdul-Rasheed Mufeed, 23.
The Oyo State Police Command announced the arrests in a statement on its verified X account on Friday evening, October 16, 2026.
The case began on September 29, 2026. That day, the command received a tip about a group allegedly involved in what it called “unnatural sexual conduct.”
The Commissioner of Police then ordered the Command Monitoring Unit to check the information and act on it. The unit’s intelligence-led operation ended with the three arrests.
Early findings point to an admission by the suspects, according to the police. Two of them allegedly confessed to having sex with the third man several times. They reportedly referred to him as their “wife.”
Detectives are still investigating. They want to establish the full facts and find out whether anyone else is linked to the case.
The command promised a fair process. It said the probe would be handled “professionally, impartially, and in accordance with the law.” It also said it would take the right action once the investigation ends.
Police also asked residents to share timely and credible information. They said such tips help to prevent, detect and investigate crime.
