The court has adjourned the DNA case involving late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, to November 16. The delay follows concerns raised by family members about how the test will be carried out.
A representative of the family seeking to join the suit said the court has assigned a new officer to look into those worries. The family wants answers about the testing facility and the role of its director, who was involved in an earlier DNA request.
Questions Over Sample Handling
The family is unsure whether the facility will conduct the test itself. It may only collect samples and send them to another laboratory. Family representatives want clear details on how samples will be collected, handled and transported.
They also pointed to past delays. According to them, an earlier sample transfer took between six and eight months.
There was another issue. The Alaba family, which approached the facility, was told that it had not received the relevant samples. That led to an inconclusive result.
Officer to Investigate
The newly appointed officer has reportedly acknowledged these concerns. He has promised to investigate further.
The family says it wants the test done quickly. However, it insists the process must be transparent and reliable. It is now waiting for the officer’s response before deciding its next step.
