Davido Enters “Oriade” and More Songs for 2027 Grammys

Davido wants another Grammy. The Afrobeats star has entered several works for the 2027 awards.

The X account @thegrammyguru shared the news on Tuesday. Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, submitted his sixth studio album, “Oriade.” He entered it for Album of the Year and Best Global Music Album. He also entered it for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.

He did not stop at the album. He also submitted songs for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.

This follows a near miss. At the 2026 ceremony, Davido earned a nomination for “With You,” featuring Omah Lay. It was in the Best African Music Performance category. However, South African singer Tyla won.

Still, Davido is a familiar name on the Grammy ballot. His earlier nominations include “Timeless,” “Unavailable” and “Sensational.”
