Okey Bakassi Shuts Down Viral Rumour of Marriage Crisis

Date:

Nigerian comedian Okey Bakassi says his marriage is fine. He has denied a viral report that claimed he and his wife are divorcing.

What He Said

The actor, whose full name is Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule, responded on his social media page. He called the report disturbing and disrespectful.

He said someone invented the story to chase views and go viral. In his words, it was the work of senseless people. He asked his family, friends and fans to ignore any claim that he and his wife have problems.

He also said his family is intact and in God’s hands.

Details the Report Got Wrong

Bakassi corrected two points in the story. First, his wife is in Canada, not the United States. Second, she is not a nurse, as the report claimed.

He described the publication as malicious.

A Call to Report the Source

The comedian urged fans to report the account that started the rumour. He asked them to flag it on X for breaking the platform’s rules.

A Recent Anniversary

The denial came days after the couple marked 25 years of marriage. Bakassi said they celebrated the milestone in Canada.

Last week, he shared a video collage of the two of them with their three children. It recalled how they first met. Their pursuit of higher education later kept them apart, but destiny brought them back together.

The veteran actor said they were never chasing records or trying to prove anyone wrong. They were simply living their lives and showing themselves that they had made the right choice.
