Youth Support for Kamala Harris Surges 16 points in Swing States

Date:

In a notable shift in the political landscape, Kamala Harris has seen a significant increase in support from young voters in key battleground states since President Joe Biden withdrew from the race. According to a recent poll conducted by the Democrat-affiliated “Won’t Pac Down,” Harris’s approval rating among voters aged 18 to 29 has risen by 16 points since early July.

This surge in popularity comes at a crucial time, as Harris continues her campaign for the presidency. She received strong backing from Nancy Pelosi during a fundraiser in San Francisco, shortly after Biden identified her as one of the influential Democrats involved in his decision to step aside.

The poll’s results follow a particularly intense weekend on the campaign trail. Former President Donald Trump criticized Harris for adopting his stance on not taxing tips, while Senator J.D. Vance intensified his “stolen valor” allegations against Tim Walz concerning his military service.

Adding to the momentum, Doug Emhoff, Harris’s husband, shared that during the Olympics, several world leaders expressed their support for her campaign. Emhoff, who represented the U.S. at the Summer Games’ closing ceremony, said, “I cannot tell you how many leaders here have already whispered to me: ‘Thank you. You need to win.'”
