The singer surprised lawyer and politician Pelumi Olajengbesi with campaign vehicles for his 2027 bid to represent Oriade-Obokun in the House of Representatives.
Singer D’Banj, whose real name is Dapo Oyebanjo, has handed three brand-new Sienna space buses to Pelumi Olajengbesi, who wants to represent the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency in 2027.
The buses were presented in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Thursday. Olajengbesi, a lawyer and politician, announced the gift in a Facebook post on Friday. He called it a surprise and a major show of support from the music star.
He said the gift began with a phone call about two weeks earlier. D’Banj asked him for the contact of the person handling his campaign branding. Olajengbesi assumed the request was for D’Banj’s CREAM project, which supports young creatives, so he passed the contact on.
Then the vehicles arrived, fully branded. When Olajengbesi called to thank the singer, D’Banj described the buses as his token of support.
Olajengbesi said the gesture shows how much the singer believes in his political journey.
His bid is also getting wider public backing. Afrobeats star Davido has previously endorsed his ambition.
Olajengbesi served as campaign spokesman for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid in the August 15, 2026 governorship election. He is also the convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network in Osun State.
He turned 40 in August. He has run for the Oriade/Obokun seat before, in 2019.
