LASEPA Seals 12 Establishments Across Lagos Over Environmental Infractions
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed 12 commercial and religious establishments across the state. The enforcement drive targeted locations in Ogba, Idimu-Ikota, Ejigbo, LASU-Iba Road, Igando, and Agodo-Egbe.
Officials cited persistent noise pollution, refusal to comply with agency directives, and failure to meet environmental standards as the primary reasons for the shutdown.
Why Were These Locations Sealed?
According to an official statement released on LASEPA’s X (formerly Twitter) account, all affected establishments were given prior warnings and abatement notices.
The agency provided opportunities for the owners to correct their operational practices. However, these directives were ignored, leaving LASEPA with no option but to step in to protect public health and safety.
Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, General Manager of LASEPA, stressed that maintaining environmental compliance is a shared responsibility. He noted that enforcement actions will continue against any business or religious organization that threatens the well-being of Lagos residents.
