#EndBadGovernance Protests
A significant gathering of Muslim worshippers took place at the Katsina Arabic Teachers College Playground and three other public locations in Katsina, where participants sought divine intervention to tackle the nation’s pressing economic challenges, insecurity, and governance issues.
As reported by AJU Global Media, the event, marked by a peaceful atmosphere and strict security, saw men and women from various backgrounds coming together to pray.
The attendees petitioned Almighty Allah for relief from the ongoing economic hardships, hunger, insecurity, and poor governance experienced under the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The worshippers also called upon Almighty Allah to remove those they believed were responsible for these challenges, including politicians, traditional leaders, business elites, security personnel, religious figures, and individuals from both wealthy and poor backgrounds, according to Channels Television.
During the event, participants recited the Al-Qunut Prayer, a special supplication made while standing, which is particularly recommended during times of distress affecting the Muslim community.
Earlier on Monday morning, a similar prayer session was held at the Filin Samji, Filin Yammawa, and Filin Canada football fields, as reported by AJU Global Media.
“We came here to worship God and prayed for Him to wipe away our tears,” one participant stated.
In Katsina State, organizers of the EndBadGovernance Protests had planned nationwide prayers for Saturday, August 10th, 2024, in various mosques and churches, seeking divine help.
This decision followed a violent protest that led to the state government imposing a curfew across the region. However, on Tuesday morning, Katsina State Deputy Governor Faruk Jobe announced the easing of the 24-hour movement restriction in Dutsinma Local Government Area and the other 33 Local Government Areas within the state.
