Cross River State Bolsters MSME Development with ₦1 Billion SMEDAN Collaboration

The Cross River State Government has teamed up with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to enhance Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) growth through a ₦1 billion Matching Fund Agreement. This strategic partnership was formalized in Abuja by Governor Senator Bassey Otu and SMEDAN’s Director General, Mr. Charles Odii.

Focused Support and Training

The initiative will concentrate on enterprise training, capacity building, and business development support at the Cross River State Entrepreneurship Development Center (CRSEDC). It aims to provide MSMEs with accessible financing options and robust monitoring to ensure effective use of the funds.

Implementation and Goals

The Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA) will oversee the implementation of this project. This partnership highlights a committed effort to foster the development of Nano, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (NMSMEs) in the region, linking training directly with financial opportunities.

This collaboration is a significant step towards empowering local enterprises and stimulating economic growth in Cross River State through targeted support and resource pooling.
